Acknowledgment of Construction on Property.By signing this Addendum, you acknowledge that existing, ongoing, or future construction on the property may affect your use, view, and enjoyment of such property. I'll include relevant sections of the "construction addendum" if it's helpful: I'm actually extremely overwhelmed and need help right now, any advice you could give would be so so much appreciated. 5 days notice does not seem like a reasonable about of time to give someone for something like this, I am extremely put out by this and will honestly incur a lot of excess cost in either finding housing until then, loss of wages if I'm not able to start my job, or even just the time and effort it will take to find a new place if I decide to terminate the contract. I'm trying to be reasonable/rational about this, but this just doesn't seem right. When asked what they can do to either accommodate or compensate my girlfriend and I, they stated that they have no units available for anyone to be put up in at the moment, and cited a "construction addendum" in the lease as the reason they are not obligated to help or compensate in any way other than refunding our application fees and letting us out of the contract if we can't wait until the end of July. I already have furniture delivered there waiting in their leasing office. I literally already sent movers with all of my belongings, changed my address, everything is set and on its way. Today, the manager calls to tell me (5 days before my move in date) that construction on my unit is not finished, and that it will not be available until the end of July. I'm moving across the country for a job, picked a brand new apartment complex (with construction still ongoing) to move in to, I signed a lease with a July 3rd move-in date.
